Moon Over Manifest

Abilene Tucker.  I will never forget this character or Miss Sadie.  This book really touched me to the core.  I may not have had a lot in common with Abilene but I know what it is like to be the new kid and the Universals that she thought she knew so well.  We moved around a lot as a kid and I was not quick to make friends.  I know those feelings of having to walk into that classroom and be the new kid...  But Abilene, not just a new kid  but with Dad gone for "the summer" as well.  Abilene not only learns the story behind her father but she revitalized the entire town of Manifest.  Meta fiction aspects, acceptance of others and ourselves.  Does love really die when a person dies?  A festering soul is just as damaging as a festering wound.  Profound book.
