Alchemy and Meggy Swan

Meggy Swan.  I have to be honest, the one book that I thought would be the easiest for me (since I would not actually be reading a book) was actually the most difficult for me.  The irony!  I am not one for audio books.  I am beyond an avid reader - really it's embarrassing how much I read, but audio books are not my cup of tea.  Perhaps if I had the book to follow along with I would have enjoyed it better.  That being said, Meggy is strong willed, crippled girl who has a had a difficult life to say the least.   Forced to live with her father now Meggy is also forced to make friends something that she is not familiar with.  Aspects of meta fiction in this book would be acceptance.  Accepting yourself and accepting friendship and trusting others.
