The 5th Wave

Another YA dystopian book. Those were my thoughts when I picked up this book this past week.  I  mean really - the world ends, a group of young teens survive, a love interest ensues and they save the rest of humanity.

YET....  Somehow The 5th Wave  spun this whole idea into something fresh and new.  I enjoyed the sci-fi element throughout this book.  The multiple viewpoints of the characters was GREAT!  As the story unfolds we get glimpses of each characters thoughts and emotions simultaneously and how they affect one another.

Aliens have come to Earth and they are not friendly.  Destruction and desolation and extermination.  Terror engulfs Cassie and her family.  She has to decide who she really is in the midst of this new world and that is easier said than done.

Life Events change us, whether we like it or not.  But ultimately we control who want to be, we control our humanity.
